Thank you for attending One Enchanted Evening on September 22, 2005. It’s Me Annabelle Inc. was the proud host of this year’s most inspiring cancer awareness event and official book launch for Messages from the Heart: Learning to Love Cancer. More than 220 venues in this city helped to promote One Enchanted Evening by posting posters and distributing postcards and 65 individuals and organizations partnered to make this event a reality. It was an enchanted evening indeed with more than 300 guests from the Calgary community and beyond. This special event brought some of Calgary’s finest speakers and wellness experts together to share their messages of hope, health and healing. Artists of the World was the perfect venue for this memorable evening and provided an intimate and colourful setting for guests to casually mingle.
Nomi Whalen introduced our impressive list of speakers, starting with Annabelle Bondar, who, in a heartfelt speech helped us to discover the beauty in healing. Annabelle also announced that she will be initiating It’s Me communities throughout the country, with the first one starting right here in Calgary in the new year. These groups will offer those touched by cancer the educational and emotional support in dealing with the effects of disease. It will also give participants access to services in the realm of complementary cancer care that would not otherwise be available. Through gracious partnerships, raffle sales, book and bracelet sales and donations, It’s Me communities will bring healing to the Calgary community starting in early 2006. Keep visiting our website for more information on upcoming It’s Me communities.
In an impassioned and informed lecture, Dr. Bruce Hoffman shed light on the emerging paradigm in integral medicine and briefly highlighted the Seven Levels of Healing which form the foundation for mind-body-spirit healing. Amy Bondar educated guests about the significant impact your food choices have on your health, now and in the future. Coach Cal inspired listeners to attune to their bodies and embark on an exercise regime with courage and commitment. His account of Alan Hobson’s discovery of cancer and recovery from disease was evidence of how a simple heart rate monitor can help us monitor our health in our journey to wellness. Monica Nipp enlightened guests about the undeniable power of energy healing and sound therapy while Debbie Baylin, founder of Art à la Carte, spoke about the crucial role that choice can play in the healing process.
These inspiring lectures were interspersed by raffle draws with gifts from incredible organizations in the city including:
